Gun Editions Launches the Permanent Industry Index for Limited-Run Firearms, Distributor Exclusives, and Specialty Ammunition
The independent research platform preserves product details that routinely disappear after a special run sells out.
CHINO VALLEY, Ariz. — August 14, 2026 — Gun Editions today announced the public launch of GunEditions.com, a searchable industry index built to document limited-run firearms, distributor exclusives, collector releases, and specialty ammunition before original product information disappears.
The archive launches with 1,644 product records, including 575 firearm editions and 1,069 ammunition loads. Coverage currently spans 40 firearm manufacturers and 17 distributor or exclusive-program channels, with new and historical records added continuously.
Each record is designed to preserve the facts collectors and industry professionals need: maker, model, caliber, original MSRP, production quantity when documented, SKU, UPC, configuration, imagery, release status, sell-through evidence, and a source trail. Unknown details remain clearly labeled instead of being estimated.
“A special edition can sell out in hours, but the details should not disappear with the inventory,” said Hans Kline, founder of Gun Editions. “We are building the permanent record so collectors, dealers, manufacturers, and writers can find the exact edition, not just the base model.”
Gun Editions is an independent research catalog and release tracker. It is not a firearms dealer, ammunition seller, marketplace, or transfer service. The platform also offers free release-watch registration, manufacturer and distributor directories, collector research guides, and an industry desk for companies that want to submit documented releases or correct a record.
